PETSCII is the commodore C64 character set. It is somewhat like ASCII, but not quite. PETSCII was quite alot used in older computer games on the C64, because half of the characters were devoted to text and the other half to small graphics that were designed so you can put them together to make larger images.
HYPER PETSCII is an PETSCII editor with a twist. Instead of using a modern GUI to allow you to edit the PETSCII graphics, it takes you back in time, and gives you access only to a GUI made directly in the C64 graphics mode (right in the web browser).
Besides this it has also support for the X16 (Commander 16) graphics modes.

Be aware the code is buggy, but it has some nice features like import and export, and the so called “Double Petscii” screen modes of the X16.
